In business since 1997, FineLine Fuel Systems, is a family owned and operated business that manufactures and distributes a wide range of aftermarket fuel tank sending units for domestic and foreign vehicles. These sending units have two functions: they show how much fuel is in the fuel tank; and they pump the fuel to the engine. Their current customer base is largely warehouse distributors and members of large buying groups in Canada and the Eastern U.S. In the year ending in May 2002, FineLine Fuel Systems sales to the U.S. tripled, and they plan to extend their U.S. market geographically to include the western and southern states. They are also in the process of researching the European markets for future growth. MacIsaac Kiltmakers is situated in the beautiful village of St. Peter's on Cape Breton Island. This family-run business specializes in custom-made kilts, Highland Wear for men and women, and Highland Dancing Outfits. Their custom Highland Dancing Wear includes dancers' kilts, velvet dancing jackets and vests and they can fill everything from single order to outfitting a complete dance troupe or pipe band. In the past three years their sales have more than tripled in the Canadian market. Their international sales have also grown significantly due to marketing activities that include customer referrals, on-line web based sales, and brochure distribution. With 75 year of experience between them, they bring the finest hand picked Christmas Trees of Balsam and Canaan Fir to customers in Nova Scotia, the United States, the Caribbean, Mexico and beyond. Export sales make up more than 60% of Northern Lights Christmas Tree Farms' business, and due to the company's aggressive marketing approach, they have secured increasingly larger accounts in new markets. These include Home Depot and Wal-Mart. They have, in fact, more than doubled their market area with Wal-Mart. Welaptega Marine Ltd. was founded in 1992 in Dartmouth as a marine biology consulting company in the offshore petroleum industry. In 1996 they relocated their operations base to the U.K., and focused on the development and commercialisation of underwater video inspection technologies. In 1998, the Welaptega Marine Chain Measuring System was patented, commissioned and tested offshore for both Shell UK and Total Oil UK. The system is now the global standard for underwater chain inspection, and is used in Canada, the UK, Norway, Indonesia, Australia, and New Zealand. Since 1998 Welaptega Marine has established a worldwide network of technology partners and agents for both the development and commercialisation of underwater technologies for the inspection of mooring systems of floating offshore production facilities.
