Mike Duffy
Mike Duffy doesn't really need an introduction to a Canadian audience. He is the host of Mike Duffy Live, seen nightly at 5 & 8pm EASTERN on CTV NewsNET.
He has been a fixture in our national media for more than 25 years! As the Toronto Star says, Duff is the reporter to whom other journalists look for insight.
Mike was born in Charlottetown, PEI in 1946. He was educated in Island schools, and began his broadcasting career in 1962 reporting high school news.
He went on to work at the Charlottetown newspaper, and at stations in Amherst, Halifax, and Montreal, before moving to Ottawa in 1971.
He joined CBC Radio News in 1974, switched to CBC TV in 1978, and joined CTV in 1988.
Mike is a member of the Canadian Association of Broadcasters Hall of fame.
He has been a visiting fellow at Duke University; and has been twice nominated for the “Best in the Business” award by the Washington Journalism Review.
He has received many other awards and citations, plus three honourary degrees. From the University of PEI; from Niagara University in Niagara Falls, NY ; and from Wilfrid Laurier University in Brantford.
Of all his awards, Mike's favourite came a few years ago from the editors of Chatelaine magazine, when he was selected by Chatelaine as one of Canada 's 10 sexiest men!
